BEING BLACK IN THE EU REPORT
The EU report which was released on 23rd October shows that racism against black, African people in Ireland is the third highest in Europe and on the rise. The report, created by the Vienna-based Fundamental Rights Agency (FRA), finds that more than half of people from African descent (55%) experienced racial discrimination here in the five years since 2022. This is an increase of 3% since the previous report in 2016 and the third highest among the 13 member states.
